Budapest can easily be reached by air, train or car from all major European cities. Railway stations are connected with public transport. Trams, metros and buses operate without conductors. Tickets must be purchased in advance at metro stations and validated by the passengers in the carriage. Taxi service is easily available in the city. Transport connections between Ferihegy International Airport and the city center
The local bus service "Airport Bus" runs between the Underground terminus at Kőbánya-Kispest and Ferihegy 2.
Bus number 93 (figures in black) operates between Kőbánya-Kispest and Ferihegy / via the suburb of Pestszentlőrinc and does not call at Ferihegy 2. For these buses you need a pre-purchased ticket.
The best means of communication between the Airport and an arbitrary site within the city of Budapest is the "LRI Airport Minibus Service". Its service counters are located in the baggage reclaim area and at the arrival side of the airport. For a one-way ticket of 1,800.- Hungarian Forint, that is about 6 US Dollar per person they carry you to the specified address. Return tickets valid between the city and the airport also are available for 3,300.- Hungarian Forint, that is about 11 US Dollar (fees in US Dollar are estimated according to the conversion rate valid on Wednesday, May 2, 2001). For returning to the airport their service can be ordered from the hotel via phones (phone no.: 296-8555). It is recommended to call them 2 days preceding your departure so you can agree regarding the exact place and time where and when you can be picked up by them.
For a small group of people arriving together and having common destination within Budapest it may be advantageous to use taxi service. Please, be careful, do not catch a taxi available at the exit of the arrival side, because they are very expensive, but call for one, phone numbers: Tele5 Taxi +36-1-355-5555, Radio Taxi +36-1-377-7777.
